How to make your friends love you more

This bank holiday weekend I had the privilege of hanging out with my best friends. I say a privilege because as we get older we all have more responsibilities, plans, work and sometimes are just too damn tired to physically spend time together. So meeting up for a whole day to hang out is rare. You’ve got to love Britain for giving us this day.

The sun came out to play and after some poor planning on my part, Siobhan opened up her home for a little barbecue. We had burgers, chicken and corn ( you name it!)

We had a chance to chit-chat, reflect and take BOMB photographs.

Before we wrapped up the evening we went through ‘The 36 questions that lead to love’ quiz. A hot experiment since the questions were published in The New York Times and there have been many youtube videos where they put this to test on two strangers. I was watching one a few days ago and everyone was interested in trying it out so we dove right in.

If you know me, then you know that I love to ask questions to delve into how those around me think and their reasonings and this quiz gave us all the perfect opportunity to open up. The 36 questions which are all open-ended include a mix match of things we have heard before but may not really have taken the time to think about in relation to ourselves. Questions such as: ‘What would constitute a “perfect” day for you?’, ‘When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?’ and ‘Would you like to be famous? In what way?’.

As long-standing friends this quiz encouraged us to voice our differing opinions and voice the reasons why we choose one answer over another. As close as we are there always remains to be much that we can learn which is the beautiful part about humans. Over a whole lifetime, you can never know everything about a person, as we are constantly growing and learning.

I loved this opportunity to reflect and grow closer to my girls and wanted to come up with some interesting questions of my own:

If you could go back to any moment, which would it be?

If you were to swap bodies with someone, who would you choose? And why?

What is the worst surprise you have ever experienced?

When was the last time you got lost?

What would your perfect meal be like?

What’s something about your childhood that you’d never change?

Tell me what you like about yourself?

Comment down below your answers and let me know if you fell in love with your friends all over again x
