A much needed evening at home, listening to music and chuckling at funny viral videos has taught me to appreciate this limited down time. With the ‘busyness’ of work, socialising with friends and family and other commitments, it’s sometimes hard to find time to relax.
As much as I love to be with my loved ones, my battery fully recharges when I spend time with me myself and I. It gives me a chance to think and enjoy my hobbies. And most importantly; I get the opportunity to learn more about myself.
I’d encourage you to do the same.
Take some time out to refresh; book a date with yourself.
And not when you’re exhausted, get some sleep the night before and look forward to knowing you have no responsibilities for a few hours. Blast your favourite music until the sun goes down and beyond. Catch up with all those hobbies like that hat, that ain’t gonna crochet itself and you don’t want to fall behind on that online book club, animal farm was just getting good!
*Actually, now that I’m writing this, I believe I deserve some mint tea and a hot bubble bath; to really get in the mood.*
Normally I would encourage you to get off social media too but if you use it wisely, not just to watch other people, it ain’t so bad. Just remember to dedicate some time to you. Your mind will thank you.
